Samoa Joe wins TNT Championship at AEW Full Gear

Samoa Joe is the new TNT Champion.

Joe, who is also the Ring of Honor Television Champion, defeated Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs in a three-way match to win the championship for the first time. The finish of the match had Samoa Joe attacking Wardlow with the TNT title as Wardlow was going for a third powerbomb. Joe then choked out Hobbs with the kokina clutch to win the match and the title.

This ends Wardlow’s run with the TNT Championship after 137 days. He defeated Scorpio Sky in a street fight back on the July 6 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Wardlow and Samoa Joe had been teaming in the weeks leading to the Full Gear match. However, Joe became mad when Wardlow started to focus his attention on Powerhouse Hobbs. Two weeks ago on Dynamite, Joe turned on Wardlow after he cut a promo on Hobbs. The following week, the match for the TNT title was made for Full Gear.
