Samoa Joe vs. Nick Wayne AEW Dynamite match postponed due to travel issues

Samoa Joe’s highly-anticipated return to the ring Wednesday had to be postponed due to travel issues.

After making his surprise return on last Wednesday’s Dynamite to aid Hook against Christian Cage’s Patriarchy crew, Joe was set to take on Nick Wayne in Knoxville, Tennessee.

However, AEW head Tony Khan tweeted an hour before the show that the match had to be postponed due to winter weather causing flight cancellations but that it would be rescheduled. However, it was not announced for either this Saturday’s Collision from Jacksonville, Florida, or next Wednesday’s Dynamite from Huntsville, Alabama, as of this writing.

None of The Patriarchy members or Joe appeared on Wednesday’s show.

Joe hasn’t wrestled since last July when he lost to Chris Jericho in a street fight and was taken out backstage by a forklift driven through a wall by Jericho. It was a storyline to cover for Joe heading off to film season two of Twisted Metal for Peacock. Wayne is coming off a defeat to Hook on a late-December Rampage.
