Minoru Suzuki vs. Samoa Joe ROH TV title match set for AEW Dynamite

For the first time ever, Samoa Joe will take on Minoru Suzuki as they will battle over Suzuki’s Ring of Honor TV title on this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

Joe made his AEW debut last Wednesday with a win over Max Caster to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament while Suzuki defeated Rhett Titus for the TV title last Friday at Supercard of Honor.

It will be Suzuki’s fourth journey in an AEW ring and his first since last October’s loss to Bryan Danielson.

A tag team match weeks in the making is also confirmed as FTW Champion Ricky Starks will team with Team Taz teammate Powerhouse Hobbs against Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee.

Starks threw out the challenge after Strickland’s victory over QT Marshall. Strickland was unsuccessful in defeating Starks in his recent challenge for the FTW title while Lee was able to defeat Hobbs in their first-ever clash last week.

MJF will return to singles action for the first time since losing to CM Punk as he faces Shawn Dean. Dean picked up a DQ win over MJF (thanks to Punk) earlier this year and defeated Shawn Spears on Wednesday’s show thanks to a Wardlow distraction.

Here’s the current lineup for Wednesday’s show in New Orleans:

  • AEW Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express defends against reDRagon
  • Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz vs. Jericho Appreciation Society
  • ROH TV Champion Minoru Suzuki defends against Samoa Joe
  • Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee vs. Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks
  • MJF vs. Shawn Dean
