Samoa Joe signs with AEW, appears at ROH Supercard of Honor

Samoa Joe has signed with AEW, and appeared at the end of tonight’s ROH Supercard of Honor event.

After Jonathan Gresham defeated Bandido to unify both ROH titles, Jay Lethal came out and the two got into an argument. Sonjay Dutt came out, first seemingly to break up the fight, but then attacked Gresham. Lee Moriarty, who lost to Lethal earlier in the night following a low blow, came out for the save but was also laid out. The two beat down Gresham and Moriarty until Joe came out and cleared the ring. The show ended with Joe bringing Gresham back to the ring, the two celebrating as the show went off the air.

Ian Riccaboni on commentary mentioned that Joe would be on Dynamite this Wednesday. Tony Khan later confirmed that Joe had signed with AEW.

Joe was released from his WWE contract back in January. He had originally been released in April of last year, but was kept on by Triple H, appearing on NXT. He won the NXT Championship in August of last year, but vacated the title on September 12 due to testing positive for COVID-19.
