Sammy Guevara no longer suspended by AEW

Former three-time TNT Champion Sammy Guevara is no longer under suspension by AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported the news in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, adding that there is no word yet on when Guevara will be brought back.
“There has been stuff pitched but nothing confirmed,” he wrote.
It was Guevara’s second suspension in his AEW tenure and his first since 2020 when inappropriate comments he made about Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks surfaced from a 2016 podcast.
Guevara has been out since his late-February no DQ win over Jeff Hardy in which he accidentally broke Hardy’s nose on a shooting star press off the top rope. The match wasn’t stopped and Guevara hit his Go to Hell finisher before pinning him. Meltzer had previously reported Guevara was told to pin Hardy as part of AEW’s concussion protocol, but that was not followed.
The 30-year-old has yet to specifically address the suspension, but did thank his fans in an optimistic text-only message at the end of a vlog.
He had returned in late-December for a tag team program with Chris Jericho after suffering a concussion at last October’s WrestleDream.
