Sammy Guevara injury update, hoping to be cleared for AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara is hoping he’ll be cleared in time for AEW Dynamite on Wednesday.
Guevara suffered a concussion at WrestleDream in his match with the Don Callis Family against Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi. He was then pulled from a scheduled match on the October 4 Dynamite and has been out of action since.
Our own Dave Meltzer addressed Guevara’s status recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that he suffered a setback in his recovery but is aiming to be cleared ahead of Wednesday’s show.
“I know he wants to be ready Wednesday. I don’t know if it will happen,” Meltzer said. “He had a setback but overall he was doing well recovering from the concussion at the last pay-per-view.”
“He should be back relatively soon, at least that’s the hope. Because the Wednesday show, this coming Wednesday, is right outside of Houston and that’s where he’s from. So, he really wanted to be on the show but I don’t know that he’s going to be on the show.”
“He’s gunning for it but I don’t know what the odds are that it’s going to happen,” Meltzer continued.
Dynamite and Rampage this week will take place from the Fort Bend Epicenter in Rosenberg, Texas just outside of Houston. According to WrestleTix, 3577 tickets have been distributed to the show thus far.
