Sammy Guevara cleared to return following concussion

Sammy Guevara has been medically cleared to return.

Guevara suffered a concussion at AEW WrestleDream on October 1 and has not wrestled since. Our own Dave Meltzer addressed Guevara’s status on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio

“Sammy will be back soon now,” Meltzer said on the show.

“I don’t know when he was cleared exactly but it was over a week ago.”

Guevara also missed the last week of AEW programming due to him and Tay Melo welcoming the birth of a baby girl on November 28.

“At that point when she was about to give birth, there was no reason to come back until after she gave birth but yeah, he’s cleared,” Meltzer continued.

Before his injury, Guevara had aligned with The Don Callis Family on AEW programming in a rivalry against Kenny Omega and his former mentor, Chris Jericho. He teamed with Konosuke Takeshita and Will Ospreay and defeated Jericho, Omega, and Kota Ibushi at WrestleDream. Jericho had defeated him in a singles match 11 days earlier at AEW Grand Slam.
