Ryo Mizunami wins AEW Women’s World title eliminator tournament

Ryo Mizunami defeated Nyla Rose on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite to win the Women’s World title eliminator tournament.
With the win, Mizunami earned a title shot at Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida at this Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view.
Following Mizunami’s win, Shida (sitting at ringside) presented Mizunami with a trophy to commemorate her tournament victory. The two then traded hard forearm shots before staring each other down.
Mizunami won the final by pinning the former Women’s Champion with a spear, German suplex, and a guillotine legdrop.
Mizunami’s tournament victory came after a submission win over Maki Itoh in the first round, a countout win over Aja Kong in round two and a pin of Yuka Sakazaki in round three.
Shida has held the title since last May’s Double or Nothing where she beat Rose in a no countout, no DQ match. This will be Shida’s first title defense since she defeated Abadon on the January 6th Dynamite.
