Rose & Ford vs. Shida & Statlander set for AEW Dynamite

A new match has been announced for Dynamite on Wednesday.

AEW President Tony Khan posted on Twitter that a tag team match has been signed for Dynamite. New AEW Women’s champion Hikaru Shida will team with Kris Statlander to take on Nyla Rose and Penelope Ford. 

This comes off the heels of Double or Nothing several weeks ago where Shida defeated Rose in a no DQ, no countout match to win the championship for the first time. Rose gained some momentum back on last week’s Dynamite by pinning Big Swole.

It was also announced that Chris Jericho will be returning to commentary for this week’s show. He joined Tony Schiavone for several shows during the initial outbreak of COVID-19.

Also announced for Wednesday is a TNT title match between Marq Quen and champion Cody, Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs. Jake Hager and Santana & Ortiz of the Inner Circle, and Sammy Guevara vs. Colt Cabana.

FTR, the former Revival, will also make their wrestling debut on the program, facing The Butcher & The Blade.
