Riho defending AEW Women’s title against Britt Baker next week

Britt Baker will be the first to challenge Riho for the AEW Women’s Championship.

The match was made official for next Wednesday during tonight’s episode of Dynamite. Tickets went on sale back in August advertising an AEW Women’s title match for next week’s show.

This comes after a match that took place tonight pitting Riho & Baker against Emi Sakura & Bea Priestley, the latter of whom Baker has been feuding with. Baker used a Rings of Saturn/Mandible Claw combo for the win, submitting Sakura.

Priestley and Baker got into it after the match, but Riho and referee Aubrey Edwards pulled them apart. The segment ended with both Baker and Riho raising each other’s hands.

A number of matches have already been announced for next week. Chris Jericho will defend the AEW World title against Darby Allin, while two first-round matches in the AEW Tag Team title tournament will take place, with The Lucha Bros facing Jurassic Express and SCU taking on Best Friends.

The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is hosting next week’s Dynamite.
