Ricochet to face Zach Gowen at AEW Dynamite Beach Break

Ricochet will face a blast from the past at AEW Dynamite Beach Break.

Former WWE wrestler and longtime indie talent Zach Gowen will take on Ricochet at AEW Dynamite Beach Break in Chicago on Wednesday, April 14. The match was set up with an angle on Thursday’s Collision episode.

Gowen was introduced to the live crowd prior to Collision going on the air, then was ringside for Ricochet’s one-on-one match with Angelico and pointed out on commentary.

After his match, Ricochet taunted security staff at ringside and began cutting the hair of one of the guards. Gowen jumped the rail to make the save, but Ricochet cut him off and stole Gowen’s prosthetic leg, leaving Gowen laying in the ring. Video of the angle is here.

Later in the telecast, Ricochet vs. Gowen was announced for next week’s Beach Break.

Gowen had a brief, yet memorable stint in WWE in 2003, including pay-per-view matches against Vince McMahon and Matt Hardy, and television matches against John Cena and Brock Lesnar. He was also part of a Hulk Hogan (as Mr. America) vs. Roddy Piper feud on the SmackDown brand the same year.
