Ricochet expected to make AEW debut soon

With his WWE contract now over, we could see Ricochet arrive in AEW soon.

Ricochet entered into free agency when his WWE contract expired at the start of July. It’s believed that AEW is his next destination. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Ricochet is expected to make his AEW debut shortly.

“Ricochet (Trevor Mann, 35), had his contract expire in WWE and he’s expected to debut here shortly,” Meltzer wrote. “It will be interesting to see his early reaction. I think we’ve learned nobody that AEW can get is going to single-handedly move ratings at this point, but as far as crowd reactions after the first week, where obviously it’ll be big, will they see him as a WWE guy who was just a guy on the roster or will they see him as Ricochet from years ago when he was one of the hottest indie stars in the world? It’ll be an interesting look at the AEW live event fan base.”

On the June 10 episode of Raw, Ricochet was written off WWE television in an angle where he was taken out in an ambulance following an attack by Bron Breakker. The angle took place after Ricochet gave notice to WWE that he would be leaving when his contract expired.

The last match Ricochet had for WWE was dropping the WWE Speed Championship to Andrade.

Signing with AEW would give Ricochet the chance to renew his in-ring rivalry with Will Ospreay. Ospreay has expressed that he would love to wrestle Ricochet again.
