Peter Avalon’s AEW contract expired

Peter Avalon, who had been with AEW since before the company ran its first show, is a free agent.
PW Insider was first to report that Avalon’s AEW deal recently expired, which we have since confirmed. The news coincides with Avalon’s own announcement this past week that he is accepting independent bookings.

Avalon was also seemingly written out of Being The Elite storylines on this past week’s episode.
The original PW Insider story notes that just because Avalon is no longer under contract does not mean he will not work with the company in the future on a per-appearance deal.
Avalon and Leva Bates appeared on BTE as The Librarians prior to AEW’s inception, then were two of the company’s first official signings.
In AEW, Avalon has primarily been an enhancement talent. He has teamed and feuded with Brandon Cutler in a race to see who of the two would win a match first.
After a gimmick change, Avalon became “Pretty” Peter Avalon, using a lothario persona.
