Report: CM Punk, Jungle Boy had issue over desired use of glass on AEW Collision

A new report emerged Tuesday regarding a discussion/argument between CM Punk and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry on a past AEW Collision.
Fightful reported that Perry was brought into one of the four Collision episodes filmed in Canada over late-June/July to film a segment that contained a spot which Perry wanted to use real glass for. They did not report what the purpose of the segment was.
As the stories have gone the past few days with Punk’s power on the Saturday night show, there are sides.
According to the report, Punk felt Perry was throwing a “temper tantrum” over his desired use of real glass, despite production, doctors and Tony Schiavone recommending otherwise. Punk reportedly felt Perry was trying to avoid having to work the next week “which he sees as a big problem in the company.”
Perry wasn’t happy with the decision and further guidelines were put into place for talent. It’s not apparent if this was the impetus for those changes or one of several reasons.
“Punk’s claim was that he was asked to step in and calmly said that they don’t do that on Saturdays (for Collision) and if he doesn’t like it, he could stay on Wednesdays,” the report stated, adding that it was referred to as “an argument” by those in the locker room.
Bryan Alvarez wrote in the afternoon that he had heard the story and thought something might have got lost in translation.
“Jungle Boy had a vacation planned. He wanted to do a pre-taped angle with a car to write him off TV for that week. Punk told him no. He felt it was too dangerous to do a broken glass spot and said they cared about safety. Jungle was upset about that. That is very different from the story that Jack wanted to do a dangerous spot as a way to avoid having to go to work,” he wrote.
There has been an increase of discussion this week surrounding Punk and both his control on Collision and overall power in the company following reporting that he had several talents and an executive unbooked/taken off the show including Hangman Page, Matt Hardy, Ryan Nemeth, head of talent relations Christopher Daniels and Isiah Kassidy.
With Page, a PWInsider report Tuesday cited several AEW sources as saying there was always a plan to have Page film a promo Saturday away from the building which had nothing to do with Punk.
Punk happened to mention Page in an off-air promo after the show ended that he later apologized to Page for via text.
