Report: AEW’s MJF, Tony Khan meeting in Las Vegas Tuesday

The ongoing saga between MJF and AEW may continue Tuesday as he and company head Tony Khan will reportedly meet in Las Vegas.

Fightful first reported the news Monday night. On the post-Raw Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer did not confirm, but Bryan Alvarez said they had got a report MJF was still in the city. Meltzer opined that MJF won’t be on Wednesday’s Dynamite given how Sunday’s Double or Nothing match against Wardlow ended. However, PWinsider later reported that MJF was spotted at LAX in Los Angeles, meaning he is in town prior to Wednesday’s show.

It’s unknown what they are discussing at the meeting or even if the meeting is legitimate.

This follows a weekend in which MJF legitimately no-showed a meet & greet/autograph session Saturday which kicked off nearly two days of rumors and discussion regarding whether he would even appear at Double or Nothing as planned.

That was the latest friction point between the top heel and Khan which appear to be centered around his current level of pay given his status in the company. He is set to become a free agent in January 2024 which he has openly discussed in AEW promos and interviews. It has been reported that Khan is willing to increase his pay if he signs an extension which he is unwilling to do at this point.
