Private Party advance in AEW Tag Team title tournament

Private Party have advanced in the AEW Tag Team title tournament.

Their match against the Young Bucks opened tonight’s episode of Dynamite on TNT. The Bucks were going for the Meltzer Driver when Isiah Kassidy pulled Nick Jackson off the apron and to the floor. In the ring, Marq Quen countered, rolling up Matt into a small package and pinning him to win the match.

The remaining two first-round matches will take place next week (October 16). The Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) will take on Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy), while Best Friends (Trent Barreta & Chuck Taylor) will battle SCU. Private Party will face the winners of The Lucha Bros vs. Jurassic Express in the semifinals on October 23.

The Dark Order, who have a first-round bye in the tournament, will face the winners of Best Friends vs. SCU on October 23 as well.

The finals of the tournament will take place on the October 30 edition of Dynamite.
