Powerhouse Hobbs joins The Don Callis Family at AEW Dynamite Anniversary

Powerhouse Hobbs is the newest member of The Don Callis Family.

Hobbs was introduced as the most recent addition to the Callis stable at Wednesday’s Dynamite Anniversary show as he decimated Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho in a post-match attack.

After Omega and Jericho defeated Kyle Fletcher (subbing for Sammy Guevara) and Konosuke Takeshita in tag team action on Dynamite, Hobbs hit the ring and attacked Omega and Jericho at the direction of Callis.

Hobbs sent Omega over the ringside barricade and into the crowd, then continued his attack on Omega in the ring as Callis and Takeshita used duct tape to restrain Omega. Hobbs used a chair to attack Jericho, then allowed Callis to hit Omega with an unprotected chair shot to the head as the angle culminated.

Following the angle, Jericho vs. Hobbs was one of four new matches announced for next week’s AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday.

Hobbs had been a featured player on Collision since that show’s debut in June, feuding with Miro. Their issue came to a close at All Out last month where Miro came away with a victory and branched off into an angle with his wife CJ Perry. Since losing at the pay-per-view, Hobbs has wrestled twice in dark matches at Collision tapings.
