Powerhouse Hobbs confirms he’s cleared for AEW return

After a six-month absence, Powerhouse Hobbs should be making his AEW return soon.

Hobbs has been sidelined since undergoing surgery for a torn patellar tendon this April. The injury happened on the April 24 episode of Dynamite while Hobbs was facing Jon Moxley.

Recently, Hobbs has been backstage at AEW shows and it was reported that he’s been cleared to return to the ring. He confirmed that news while speaking with In The Kliq this week.

“Ruptured my patellar tendon, so it was a pretty gruesome injury. But me being me. I’ve been cleared,” Hobbs said. “Healed up pretty fast. You know, got that Wolverine serum in me a little bit. But, yeah, I’m cleared. I’m back. It’s already been put out there in the universe and in the internet world that I’m cleared. So, it’s time to pick up where I left off.”

When asked about a potential date for his return, Hobbs teased that he could show up at any time.

“You just got to stay tuned,” Hobbs replied. “You never know when I may show up.”

The 33-year-old Hobbs is a former AEW TNT Champion. This week’s Dynamite from San Jose is taking place near his hometown of East Palo Alto, California. AEW will also be in Stockton, California on Thursday for a Collision/Battle of the Belts taping.
