Penelope Ford attacks Jamie Hayter in AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday return
Penelope Ford is back.
During a four-way match to crown a new number-one contender for the AEW Women’s Championship, Jamie Hayter was cornering Saraya, who she recently defeated at AEW Grand Slam. However, she was suddenly attacked from behind with a steel chair shot by Ford. Hayter chased Ford to the back as the match, which also featured Nyla Rose, was ultimately won by Willow Nightingale, who pinned both Saraya and Harley Cameron.
Ford hasn’t wrestled in nearly two years, last wrestling a mixed tag match with Kip Sabian back on an episode of AEW Dark: Elevation back in October of 2022. In February of 2023, she lost the DDT Iron Man title to Sabian.
Upon her return, Excalibur noted that she had been out of action with an undisclosed injury. Back in April of last year, Ford opened up about her and Sabian’s struggles with a miscarriage. Ford also revealed at the time that she was suffering from a fibroid that was “the size of a cantaloupe” that ultimately required surgery.
Sabian has recently resurfaced on AEW television as someone who’s been the brunt of Christian Cage’s insults, with Cage frequently making references to Sabian’s deceased father.
