Participants set for first AEW Women’s title match


Both participants have now been revealed for the match to crown AEW’s inaugural Women’s Champion.
Nyla Rose vs. Riho on the premiere of AEW on TNT will decide the promotion’s first Women’s Champion. The debut episode is taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 2.
Rose advanced to the title match by winning the Casino Battle Royale on the All Out pre-show. Riho was set up as Rose’s opponent by defeating Hikaru Shida on the All Out main card.
Shalandra Royal, Leva Bates, Faby Apache, Priscilla Kelly, Penelope Ford, Shazza McKenzie, Sadie Gibbs, Big Swole (Aerial Monroe), Britt Baker, Tenille Dashwood, Ivelisse, Bea Priestley, Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Allie, Nicole Savoy, Teal Piper, ODB, Jazz, and Mercedes Martinez were the other entrants in the Casino Battle Royale.
The Casino Battle Royale was the first match Rose has won in AEW. Riho defeated Rose and Yuka Sakazaki in a three-way match at Fyter Fest.
Riho was also on the winning side of a six-woman tag match at All Out, with her teaming with Shida & Ryo Mizunami against Aja Kong, Emi Sakura & Sakazaki. On the Fight for the Fallen pre-show, Riho & Britt Baker lost to Shoko Nakajima & Priestley.
