Page, Danielson go to 60-minute draw at AEW Winter is Coming

The AEW World title is staying with Hangman Page for now as he and Bryan Danielson went to a one-hour draw at Wednesday’s Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite in Garland, Texas.

The match was the longest in Dynamite history.

Both the champion and challenger had their opportunities to win in a physical match that spilled outside the ring at times. At one point, Page, bloodied earlier in the bout, hit a Deadeye on Danielson on the ring apron, but later missed an elbow drop to a prone Danielson on a ringside table.

The two exchanged finishers in the match’s closing minutes with neither man able to get the win. Page attempted a Buckshot lariat, but Danielson ensnared him with the LeBell Lock to counter. Page worked his way out and slingshotted Danielson over the top rope, but the challenger skinned the cat and came back in, only to be met by a Page clothesline. Page then hit the Buckshot, but was unable to pin Danielson before time ran out.

This was the first defense of the title and first match overall for Page since he won the title at November’s Full Gear. Danielson earned the shot with his win over Miro in the World title eliminator tournament final at the same pay-per-view.

With the draw, Danielson remains unbeaten since debuting for AEW in September. He went to a 30-minute draw with Kenny Omega at that month’s Grand Slam edition of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
