Number one contender’s match added to AEW Dynamite, rankings to be revealed

A number one contender’s match for the TBS Championship has been added to Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, plus new rankings are set to be revealed. 

Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, and Anna Jay will square off in a four-way on the Wednesday, March 27 Dynamite, with the winner facing Julia Hart for the TBS title at AEW Dynasty on Sunday, April 21. Mercedes Mone will be on commentary for the number one contender’s bout. 

Additionally, AEW’s Tony Khan has announced that the latest AEW rankings will be revealed following Wednesday’s Dynamite. 

This will be the third rankings reveal of 2024, and the first since February 10.

Khan also announced that the winner of Wednesday’s Swerve Strickland vs. Konosuke Takeshita match will be the top-ranked competitor in the men’s division:

The updated AEW Rankings will be released tomorrow, Wednesday night 3/27, following Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite live on TBS! With @Takesoup’s 2024 record at 5-1 + @swerveconfident at 5-1-1, I can confirm that the winner of tomorrow’s Takeshita vs Swerve match will be ranked #1!

The updated lineup for the Wednesday, March 27 Dynamite: 

  • TBS Championship number one contender’s match (w/Mercedes Mone on commentary): Kris Statlander vs. Willow Nightingale vs. Skye Blue vs. Anna Jay 
  • AEW World Championship number one contender’s match: Swerve Strickland vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • Will Ospreay vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • AEW Tag Team title tournament quarterfinals: The Young Bucks vs. Private Party
