New signing hype gives AEW Dynamite a big ratings boost

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite averaged 1.129 million viewers on TBS, up 18.3 percent from last week. It’s the best viewership for the show since September 29 of last year.
The show featured the AEW debut of Keith Lee, with AEW hyping in advance that a huge signing would be arriving. The episode was also headlined by Hangman Page retaining his AEW World Championship against Lance Archer in a Texas Death Match.
In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.41 rating, up 17.1 percent from the February 2 episode. That matches the number from two weeks ago as Dynamite’s third-highest since moving to TBS.
Dynamite finished first on the cable charts in the 18-49 demo, ahead of two NBA games on ESPN, Winter Olympic coverage on the USA Network, and a new episode of South Park on Comedy Central.
Dynamite beat out the 0.36 rating that WWE Raw drew in the 18-49 demo this Monday, though this wasn’t a normal week due to Raw being moved to Syfy because of the Olympics.
Dynamite’s biggest gains were with males 12-34 and males 18-49, which were up 28.6 percent and 20.8 percent respectively from last week. The show actually had a huge drop of 43.8 percent with females 12-34, which would likely be attributed to the Olympics.
As compared to the same week in 2021, Dynamite was up 52.4 percent in overall viewers and up 41.4 percent in 18-49. That’s comparing to when NXT was still airing on Wednesdays head-to-head with Dynamite.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for Dynamite. This week’s show was up 15.9 percent in viewers and up 10.8 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
