MJF to defend AEW American Championship vs. Michael Oku at RevPro event

MJF is a traveling champion.
The holder of the newly-renamed AEW American Championship has been announced as defending his title against Michael Oku at RevPro Summer Sizzler 2024 in London on August 11.
MJF appeared via video on today’s RevPro event in Coventry.
“Michael Oku. Will Ospreay, you earned his respect, which means you have my undying hatred. You are scum of the Earth, you are disgusting, you are scrawny, you are indy trash and you hail, let’s face it, from the worst country in the entire world, a third-world country, if we’re being honest.”
“I remember the Boston Tea Party,” he continued. “I remember what your people tried to do to mine but we fought back! And I’m ready to fight back, Michael Oku. I’m ready to take you out and prove a point that everybody from the UK, hell everybody from Europe, is a bum.”
MJF is also scheduled to defend his title against Templario in Arena Mexico for CMLL on August 2. Following that, he’s set to defend the belt, provided he’s still champion, against Will Ospreay on August 25 at AEW All In.
Oku had a Match of the Year candidate at RevPro’s event on February 18, 2024. He defeated Will Ospreay to retain his Undisputed British Heavyweight title in a match our own Dave Meltzer rated six stars.
