MJF retains AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring

MJF defeated Orange Cassidy to retain the Dynamite Diamond Ring on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
In the show’s main event, MJF retained the Diamond following a match filled with outside interference.
Inner Circle members Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Ortiz and Wardlow interfered on MJF’s behalf early in the match. Cassidy’s original seconds, Best Friends, plus Top Flight, Varsity Blondes and Brandon Cutler got involved later in the match.
Ultimately it was an assist from Miro that allowed MJF to retain the Ring.
After an Orange Punch, Cassidy seemed to have the match in hand. Wardlow placed MJF’s foot on the ropes to break the referee’s count. As a brawl ensued between the various factions at ringside, Miro ran in with Kip Sabian. Miro then hammered Cassidy with a lariat.
With the referee unaware of Miro’s interference, MJF then covered for the pin.
Miro and Kip Sabian have been feuding with Cassidy and Best Friends since the October 14th edition of Dynamite, the show’s first anniversary episode.
With the victory, MJF will retain the Dynamite Diamond for another year. MJF won the 2019 match for the Dynamite Diamond, defeating Hangman Page.
