MJF no-shows AEW Double or Nothing Fan Fest meet and greet

This story was updated at 10:30 PM Eastern.

MJF no-showed his Saturday AEW Fan Fest autograph and photo session for reasons that are unknown.

Several attendees noted his absence on social media which we have independently confirmed as legitimate and not a work. AEW was unable to contact him.

PWInsider noted that AEW “did their best to make good to (fans) including offering exchanges for other talents.”

Fightful reported that he is physically fine, but that one source said “communication between the two sides had reached an all-time low. AEW talent and personnel were asked to not comment on the situation, and those we’ve spoken to have not heard back from him.”

They also reported that a flight for MJF out of Las Vegas has been booked for reasons unknown. However, it’s unclear whether he will actually get on the flight.

Following a Thursday media call in which Tony Khan was asked about the inclusion of MJF’s contract status in storyline and said, “For MJF, it’s been a great opportunity to not only air some real life grievances and air his actual status, contractually or otherwise,” MJF tweeted and deleted “F***ing LOL. F*** this place.”

There have been reported issues between the two recently. In one, Khan took exception to an interview MJF did that wasn’t cleared through their PR team first in an issue that was later resolved. There also was a report that he is leaning toward leaving AEW when his deal runs out in 2024. However, it has been difficult to discern what is legitimate and what isn’t.

MJF is scheduled to face Wardlow at Sunday’s Double or Nothing.
