Mercedes Mone vs. Yuka Sakazaki TBS title match set for AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone will be defending her TBS Championship to close out the month of January as she defends against Yuka Sakazaki this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.

Sakazaki (seen above) earned the title shot by pinning Deonna Purrazzo via rollup in a four-way TBS Championship eliminator bout on Saturday’s Collision which also included Queen Aminata and Serena Deeb. It was Sakazaki’s first AEW match since last September when she failed to defeat AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May at Grand Slam Dynamite.

This will be their first-ever match against each other.

Mone’s reign as TBS Champion began back on May 26, 2024, when she defeated Willow Nightingale at AEW Double Or Nothing to capture the title. Sakazaki has never held AEW gold.
