Mercedes Mone victory toast set for AEW Dynamite

Mercedes Mone still has plans to celebrate her double championship win.

AEW has announced that Mone will hold a “double championship victory toast” on Dynamite this Wednesday night. She was supposed to have a title celebration on the show last week, but there was instead an angle where Mone went face-to-face with Britt Baker.

Mone, who already held the AEW TBS Championship, became a double champion by winning the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship from Stephanie Vaquer in a title vs. title match at Forbidden Door. Right after that match, Mone was interrupted by the returning Baker.

In a promo on Dynamite last week, Baker explained her 10-month absence from AEW. She was banged up with a couple herniated discs, a torn hip labrum, and was mentally running on empty. Baker told herself she was fine until she was feeling really sick one day and was diagnosed with transient ischemic attack (a mini stroke). Baker is now healthy and has challenged Mone to a match at All In next month.

Mone responded to the All In challenge by dismissing Baker and telling her to get to the back of the line.

Dynamite is taking place from Calgary, Alberta, Canada this Wednesday. The updated card for the episode is listed below:
