Mercedes Mone TBS title defense booked for next AEW Dynamite
Mercedes Mone will defend the TBS Championship against CMLL’s Zeuxis on next week’s AEW Dynamite.
AEW’s Tony Khan made the announcement in a social media post, noting that Zeuxis is Stephanie Vaquer’s tag team partner in CMLL. Vaquer is set to defend the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship against Mone at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 30 in a match where Mone’s TBS title will also be at stake.
In a separate post, Khan announced “an informative video package” for Saturday’s AEW Collision to get those unfamiliar with Zeuxis up to speed on her.
Khan went on to mention in a follow-up post that should Zeuxis win the TBS title on Dynamite, only Vaquer’s NJPW Strong Women’s title will be on the line at Forbidden Door.
Mone vs. Zeuxis is the second title match booked for the Wednesday, June 12 Dynamite. Will Ospreay will also defend the AEW International Championship on the show against Rey Fenix after Fenix won a four-way number one contender’s match on this week’s episode.
A TV Time with Chris Jericho segment has also been announced for next week’s Dynamite.
