Mercedes Mone advances in Owen Hart Foundation tournament at AEW Dynasty

Mercedes Mone advanced to the semifinals of the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament as part of Sunday’s AEW Dynasty.
Mone, the reigning TBS Champion, defeated former TBS Champion Julia Hart in a quarterfinal bout on the pay-per-view, picking up the victory after pinning her with a cradle.
The two exchanged attempted finishers in the bout’s closing moments with Money clamping on the Statement Maker at one point. Hart escaped and nearly got a pin on a rollup, but Mone recovered for the aforementioned flash pin.
It was Mone and Hart’s first ever singles match after sharing the ring in a tag team bout on Saturday’s Collision.
Mone will move on to face the winner of Athena vs. Harley Cameron, the date of which has yet to be announced. On the other side of the eight-woman bracket, Jamie Hayter will face Billie Starkz while Kris Statlander takes on Thunder Rosa. The dates for those matches have also not been announced.
The finals of the tournament will take place at May’s Double or Nothing. The tournament winner will challenge for the AEW World title at July’s All In Texas.
Mone remains undefeated as a singles wrestler in AEW, a streak that began in March 2024 when she debuted. Hart is 5-3 in 2025 after returning from shoulder surgery.
