With Chris Jericho out of the AEW Rampage commentary team, his former Jericho Appreciation Society teammate Matt Menard will officially take his place.

Author and podcast host Pat Laprade announced the news via X on Saturday.

Menard first started doing some commentary on both AEW Dark and Dark Elevation which led to some Rampage appearances when Jericho was out.

During Friday’s Rampage, Jericho revealed he would no longer be on commentary so he could be on TV more often on Dynamite and Collision.

Following a multi-year run in WWE, Menard (then Matt Lee) and longtime partner Angelo Parker (then Jeff Parker) signed with AEW in August 2021, aligning with Daniel Garcia shortly after. They eventually joined Jericho’s latest faction and competed in the first-ever Anarchy in the Arena match and in a Blood & Guts match in 2022.

Since the faction dissolved, Menard has wrestled infrequently with just six matches this year. He was last in action in an early-May singles win over Mike Bennett in Ring of Honor as Parker has been off following his recent marriage to Ruby Soho.
