Matt Cardona makes surprise appearance on AEW Collision

Matt Cardona made a surprise appearance on Collision.
Adam Copeland resumed his Cope Open on Saturday’s show, issuing an open challenge that Cardona accepted. At one point, Cardona dodged the spear and hit the radio silence for a near fall. The finish of the match had Cardona go for a spear, only for Copeland to hit a spear of his own for the win.
After the match, the lights went off and Copeland was met by Malakai Black. He was attacked from behind by Buddy Matthews. Both Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe came out for the save.
Copeland won the TNT Championship from Christian Cage in an I Quit match on the March 20 edition of AEW Dynamite in Toronto. Previously, Copeland had started the Cope Open challenge in an attempt to get another shot at Cage’s championship, which Copeland won briefly at Worlds End in December before losing to Cage in an impromptu match.
Cardona currently wrestles on the independent scene as a free agent, frequently wrestling for GCW. He previously appeared in AEW back in 2020 as a tag team partner for Cody Rhodes against The Dark Order.
