Kris Statlander undergoes surgery for torn ACL

Kris Statlander is recovering following surgery to repair a torn ACL.

She posted a picture on her Twitter account this afternoon following her surgery. She had tweeted the day before that she was undergoing surgery today.

Statlander tore her ACL in a match on AEW Dynamite that aired on June 10. The injury happened as she was going for a dive on Kip Sabian to the outside, injuring her knee on impact. It took place during a tag team match where Statlander teamed with Hikaru Shida to take on Nyla Rose and Penelope Ford.

A few days later she confirmed the injury, writing on Twitter that she had suffered a high grade tear on her ACL.

“Since the news is out. I told you I’d dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high grade tear in my ACL,” she wrote. ”Yes I need surgery. Yes I’ll be out of the ring for a while. I’ll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can.”

Statlander’s last high profile match was at Double or Nothing, when she defeated Penelope Ford in a singles match
