Kris Statlander returns, wins TBS title at AEW Double or Nothing

Kris Statlander is the new TBS Champion.
Statlander returned to AEW and defeated Jade Cargill in an impromptu match to win the title at Double or Nothing.
Following Cargill’s victory over Taya Valkyrie earlier on the show, Mark Sterling cut a promo saying she would take on anyone, anywhere at any time. Statlander’s music hit and the championship bout began once she hit the ring. Moments later, Statlander countered Jaded and hit a tombstone piledriver for the win.
After her 60th title defense, TBS Champion @Jade_Cargill's open challenge has just been answered by none other than @callmekrisstat!!!

Jade Cargill’s undefeated streak ends after 60 straight victories. Her TBS title reign ends after 509 days and 25 successful defenses.
Statlander had been out of action since last August after suffering a torn ACL. She underwent surgery to repair the injury in September.

This is Statlander’s first championship in AEW. Other titles she’s held elsewhere include the WSU World Championship and the AAW Women’s Championship. The 27-year-old made her professional debut in 2016 and was trained by Pat Buck and Brian Myers at Create A Pro Wrestler.
