Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley cage match announced for May 10 AEW Dynamite

A steel cage match between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley is officially set for the May 10th edition of AEW Dynamite from Detroit, Michigan.

This will be their first match of any kind against each other since a tag team bout in April 2021.

In a Blackpool Combat Club promo posted on social media Friday, Bryan Danielson explained why he attacked Konosuke Takeshita at the end of this past Wednesday’s Dynamite. Moxley then said that Takeshita’s blood tasted like “amateur” and a lot like Omega’s before accepting the challenge that was later made official during Friday’s Rampage.

This will be their fourth-ever singles match and their first since the infamous exploding barbed wire death match at AEW Revolution in March 2021.

Moxley won their first encounter in a lights out match at AEW Full Gear in November 2019. Nearly a year later, Omega defeated Moxley for the AEW World title at the Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite in December 2021. The two have been on opposite sides of several tag team matches as well.
