Juice Robinson shares details on injuries that kept him out of action
Juice Robinson is opening up about his recent injuries.
The AEW star spoke to Renee Paquette on the latest episode of Close Up. He first talked about his back injury that took place in 2023, requiring back surgery. The injury was bad enough that he was having problems moving one of his legs.
“I ruptured a disc in my lower back and it was pressing on a nerve and I was having issues with my leg. I was having trouble using it. It was the beginning of what could have gotten much worse. It’s not only scary, well I guess scary would be thinking oh, I’m not invincible. We get hurt a lot but spine, that’s like brain, heart…I’ve broken my hand, that’s bad…but spine, you need that. Every little thing, it’s controlled by that stack of dimes.”
Robinson thought that recovering from the back injury would be hard, but suffering a broken leg in late 2024 was even harder.
“I thought it would be a lot harder than it was,” Robinson said about the back injury. “I was up moving pretty quick. It took a while to get back in the ring and then when I was just starting to get going and I snap my leg. That one was a lot harder than the back. I didn’t realize it, but it’s hard to sit down for four months, five months, and now you’re in a walking boot, just a long, long process. A lot of internal thinking.”
Mental mind games did come into play during his recovery, but Robinson said at the end of the day, this is his profession.
“I’ve been doing this for seventeen years which is crazy to think about for me because it’s not just what I want to do, it’s what I do, this is just what I do. I’m a pro wrestler. I want to do this as long as I can,” he said.
Robinson returned to the ring at AEW All In earlier this month along with The Gunn Club, who were also off television for a time. He competed in the Casino Gauntlet battle royal that was ultimately won by MJF.
