Brian Kendrick to make AEW debut against Jon Moxley on Dynamite

It didn’t take long for former WWE wrestler and trainer Brian Kendrick to get his first match booked post-release as he will take on Jon Moxley as part of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Chicago, Illinois.
News broke of Kendrick’s release earlier on Tuesday after he reportedly requested it several weeks ago.
The two have never wrestled a singles match, but did team up on a Dragon Gate USA show in March 2010 against Jimmy Jacobs and Paul London.
Fightful first reported that the 42-year-old could possibly appear on either Dynamite or Rampage but were unclear if it would be in a wrestling or backstage role.
This will be Kendrick’s first match since an October 2020 edition of 205 Live where he had been serving as a producer and coach in addition to NXT.
Moxley will look to remain undefeated since returning from alcohol rehab this month.
Here’s the current lineup for the show:
- CM Punk vs. MJF
- Jon Moxley vs. Brian Kendrick
- Malakai Black & Brody King vs. PAC & Penta El Zero Miedo
- Ruby Soho vs. Nyla Rose
