Jericho-Cassidy, FTR-hosted tag team night set for Aug. 12 AEW Dynamite

While next week’s AEW Dynamite lineup is nearly a wrap, the August 12th edition of the show is already starting to take shape with a much anticipated rematch as a featured bout.

On Wednesday’s show, former World champion Chris Jericho challenged Orange Cassidy to both a rematch in two weeks and a debate on next week’s show featuring a special guest moderator. Cassidy didn’t accept the challenge Wednesday, but it’s assumed the match is a given.

The two first competed at night two of Fyter Fest with Jericho picking up the win after a hard fought match. Cassidy later got revenge by dumping orange juice from high above the ring onto Jericho and other Inner Circle members, ruining a white jacket Jericho was wearing.

The August 12th show will also be a tag team appreciation night with FTR as hosts, announced by the team during a backstage segment as they said they made the request to Tony Khan. It’s unclear what the appreciation night will mean for in-ring action, but that will be announced per usual on next week’s show.
