Jeff Jarrett joins AEW as director of business development

Jeff Jarrett’s debut on AEW Dynamite was enough of a surprise Wednesday, but nearly an hour after the show, AEW head Tony Khan doubled down by announcing that Jarrett has been hired as the company’s director of business development.
Khan tweeted the news, saying he is looking forward to expanding the company’s live event calendar next year and in future years with Jarrett, Chris Harrington, Rafael Morffi and others.
Welcome to #AEWDynamite to the new AEW Director of Business Development @RealJeffJarrett.
I look forward to expanding the @AEW live events calendar in 2023 + in future years with JJ, @rmorfnyc, @mookieghana and our entire great AEW team.

Jarrett appeared on screen Wednesday, nailing Darby Allin with a guitar and aligning with Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh. He cut a promo afterward, indicating that he will be around AEW for a while and will be leaving people in body bags.
It’s the fourth official promotion Jarrett has appeared for this year, a list that also includes WWE, GCW and the NWA. He was also a major part of the Ric Flair’s Last Match pay-per-view.
In May, Jarrett was announced as WWE senior vice president of live events and departed the company in August shortly after Vince McMahon resigned.
