Jay White earns first spot in next week’s AEW Dynamite Casino Gauntlet
Jay White has earned the first spot in the Casino Gauntlet match for a World title shot.
White defeated Swerve Strickland and Roderick Strong in a three-way match on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen to secure the first spot in next week’s Casino Gauntlet for an AEW World title chance at Dynamite Maximum Carnage on January 15.
Under AEW’s Casino Gauntlet rules, the match can end at any time, meaning the first entry in the match has the advantage. Jeff Jarrett also declared for the Gauntlet during his promo segment on this week’s Dynamite.
The Gauntlet winner will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship on the Maximum Carnage episode of Dynamite on Wednesday, January 15. Hook vs. Christian Cage is also set for the January 15 show.
In addition to White and the Casino Gauntlet, Kenny Omega will return to Dynamite on the January 8 episode.
