Jamie Hayter explains absence from AEW programming

AEW star Jamie Hayter is going through the process of getting her visa renewed.

With fans questioning why she’s been absent from AEW programming over the last several weeks, Hayter provided an answer today, tweeting that she is in the United Kingdom awaiting a new visa. The former AEW Women’s World Champion has not wrestled for the promotion since January but did work an indie match for Pro Wrestling Eve in the UK last month, defeating Alex Windsor.

“Just getting a new visa, no big deal, no issues,” Hayter wrote. “Cheers!”

From May 2023 to August 2024, Hayter spent 15 months out of action due to injury. Two herniated discs in her back kept her bed-bound for months, but Hayter was able to make her return in London last August at All In 2024.

Hayter was in the middle of feuding with Julia Hart prior to this visa renewal causing her recent absence. She defeated Hart on the January 22 episode of Dynamite, bringing their record against each other to a 1-1 tie.
