Jake Roberts to undergo heart ablation surgery

WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts is set for heart ablation surgery on Tuesday morning.

The news was announced by Roberts’ wife Cheryl on Instagram. She wrote: “Jake’s going in for heart ablation surgery this morning. Calling all prayers warriors 🙏🏻 good vibes, and well wishes are welcomed & appreciated.”

Heart ablation surgery is considered a minimally invasive procedure used to treat irregular heartbeats, also known as arrhythmias. The procedure destroys or scars small areas of heart tissue that cause abnormal electrical signals, helping restore a normal heart rhythm.

Roberts revealed earlier this year that doctors discovered several medical issues while he was hospitalized with pneumonia. The 69-year-old also lives with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), making pneumonia a particularly dangerous condition for him.

“I got a problem with my ticker. But by going in, I caught it, and we got to go have a couple of procedures done, and it’ll be all hunky dory then,” Roberts said on his podcast in January.

Roberts has been signed to AEW since 2019. He is currently a special advisor for the company’s community outreach program, AEW Together.
