International title defense set for AEW Dynamite Anniversary episode

A rematch of one of the most critically-acclaimed matches in AEW history is set for Dynamite’s 4th Anniversary episode. 

Nick Jackson won a three-way bout on this week’s Dynamite to earn a shot at Rey Fenix & the AEW International Championship at Dynamite Anniversary set for Wednesday, October 4. Jackson defeated Brian Cage & Claudio Castagnoli to earn the title shot. 

Fenix vs. Jackson on the November 20, 2019 AEW Dynamite earned a ****3/4 star rating from Dave Meltzer and remains one of the most highly-praised bouts in the four-year history of the promotion. The bout took place on just the eighth episode in Dynamite’s history, and has yet to be rematched in a singles bout. 

Dynamite Anniversary will be held at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California, the promotion’s debut show in that city. Next week’s Rampage show will also be taped that night. 

The first Dynamite was held October 2, 2019 in Washington, DC at the Capital One Arena.

The International Championship match is the only item currently announced for the 4th Anniversary show. The current lineup:
