Hook recovering from concussion, will be back in AEW ‘soon’

AEW wrestler Hook says that he is recovering from a concussion, but should be back in the ring soon.

Appearing on Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Live, Hook noted that his recent AEW absence is related to a concussion he suffered.

“I’m recovering from a concussion for those who don’t know, but I’ve been out for a while and should be back soon,” Hook said.

Hook last wrestled on the April 9 AEW Dynamite in Baltimore in a tag match, teaming with Samoa Joe against Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of The Death Riders.

During the April 9 match, Hook appeared to vomit twice — once during the match, and once in a post-match angle where Castagnoli gave Hook a Neutralizer on a steel chair. Video of Hook throwing up went viral on X. It was initially reported that he had not suffered a concussion in the match, but his own statement today refutes that.

Hook was involved in a run-in at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view last month in the Anarchy in the Arena bout.
