Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Daniel Garcia made for ROH Supercard of Honor

A new match has been made for Friday’s Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor — one with a wrestling legend making his return to the promotion.
In a segment yet unseen to the masses but spreading on social media, Daniel Garcia interrupted AEW/ROH head Tony Khan while he was giving his customary pre-Rampage taping pump-up speech Wednesday and challenged former IWGP World Champion and NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi .
Khan then made the first time ever match official for Friday’s pay-per-view from Los Angeles, California, later announced on social media.
This will be Tanahashi’s first match in an ROH ring since April 2019’s ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. He has an extensive history with the brand that dates back to 2014 and the ROH/NJPW Global Wars series.
