Hangman Page taking time off from AEW due to impending childbirth

While it initially came as a surprise that “Hangman” Adam Page would not be facing AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at next month’s All Out, the reason for that decision makes it a no-brainer.

PWInsider reported Thursday that the plan all along was for the 30-year-old Page to take time off as he and his wife prepare for their first child to be born.

On Thursday, Page tweeted [sic], “thank you to everyone who respected my privacy these past few months and a big ‘eat my ass’ to those who chose not to. im madder than hell and you know what im coming for when i get back.”

After a run alongside the Dark Order that had logicially built him up for a shot at his former tag team partner, Page and the Dark Order lost their five-on-five elimination match against Omega, the Young Bucks and the Good Brothers that would have netted Page and his partners both a World and Tag Team title shot. Page was left with Omega and the Bucks and eventually was pinned by Omega to the surprise of the crowd.

Page was laid out by The Elite at the recent Homecoming edition of Dynamite after previously telling the Dark Order he needed to go at it alone.

Instead, Christian Cage will face Omega at All Out for the title and will also face him Friday in the first-ever match on Rampage in a challenge for his Impact World title.
