Hangman Page reflects on AEW World title loss


In a tweet on Tuesday, Adam “Hangman” Page reflected on his AEW World Championship reign now that his time as champion has come to an end.
“i’ve had a while to reflect on my time as aew champion now that it’s come to an end,” Page wrote. “thank you all, not for supporting me, but for supporting the vision. it’s not about the gold or the glory, it’s about the common love and dignity with which we treat each other. change the world”

Page lost the AEW World Championship to CM Punk in the main event of Double or Nothing on Sunday night. Page’s title reign lasted for more than six months after winning the championship from Kenny Omega at Full Gear last November.
Leading into the finish of his match against Punk, there was a spot where Page contemplated using the AEW World title belt as a weapon. Page was originally going to use the title belt but then decided that he couldn’t go through with it. Page went for the Buckshot Lariat instead, but Punk caught him with the GTS to get the win.
Page had successful defenses against Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Lance Archer, and Dante Martin during his title reign.
