AEW World Champion Hangman Page will fill in for Jim Ross on commentary for Wednesday’s live Dynamite from Duluth, Georgia.

Tony Khan made the announcement during a Wednesday appearance on Busted Open Radio. Ross is expected to be out until late-December as he is undergoing 22 consecutive radiation treatments for skin cancer.

Due to Page and Bryan Danielson’s recent issues, Khan said that Page will have to remain in the booth as Danielson takes on Alan “5” Angels or else he will face either a “hefty fine or hefty consequences.”

Danielson earned a future title shot by winning the World title eliminator tournament at Full Gear and it’s assumed that will be Page’s first defense of the championship he won by defeating Kenny Omega at that same event.

From the interview, it was unclear if Page will remain on commentary for the entire show or just for the Danielson/Angels match. It appears from this tweet that it will be just that match.

Here is the announced card for Duluth, Georgia:

  • CM Punk vs. Lee Moriarty
  • TBS Championship tournament quarterfinals: Ruby Soho vs. Kris Statlander
  • Atlanta Street Fight: Cody Rhodes vs. Andrade El Idolo
  • Sting & Darby Allin vs. Billy Gunn & Colten Gunn
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Alan Angels

The winner of the Soho vs. Statlander match will move on to face Nyla Rose in the TBS title tournament semifinals, while this will be the first time Sting has wrestled in Atlanta in 14 years.
