Grand Slam World title eliminator tournament begins on next AEW Dynamite

A World title eliminator tournament will begin on the Wednesday, September 6 AEW Dynamite.
As announced during this week’s episode, the Grand Slam World title eliminator tournament will kick off on next week’s Dynamite. The winner will challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship at Dynamite Grand Slam on Wednesday, September 20 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York City.
The tournament will have eight competitors, none of whom have been officially announced.
During an in-ring interaction with Adam Cole on this week’s Dynamite, Roderick Strong declared his intention to enter the tournament and win it, but the promotion has yet to officially announce Strong for the eliminator.
MJF defeated Cole in the main event of All In last Sunday to retain the World title. MJF & Cole will team on this Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view in defending their ROH World Tag Team Championship against the winners of a tag team battle royal on this Friday’s Rampage episode.
MJF has held the World title since defeating Jon Moxley for the Championship at last November’s Full Gear pay-per-view.
