FTR return to AEW at Revolution, attack The Gunns

FTR made their return to AEW at Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view.

Making their first appearance in the company since December 2022, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler made an impact in their return, attacking AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns in a post-match angle on the show.

After The Gunns retained their titles in a four-way contest, they were interviewed in the ring by Renee Paquette. After declaring themselves “the best tag team in the world,” FTR’s music hit. Harwood and Wheeler then hit the ring and laid out both Austin and Colten Gunn with a spike piledriver and a Big Rig.

FTR then posed with the AEW Tag titles, cementing themselves as the next challengers for The Gunns.

Prior to Sunday, FTR’s last AEW appearance came on Dynamite’s Holiday Bash episode on December 21. Their last match anywhere happened at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 of this year.

FTR dropped both the ROH and AAA Tag titles in December, then lost NJPW’s IWGP Tag titles at Wrestle Kingdom, fueling speculation that they may be headed back to WWE when their AEW contracts expired, reportedly in April of this year.

Harwood addressed the possibility of a WWE return on his podcast, stating that Vince McMahon being back as executive chairman of WWE made the idea of a WWE return “questionable.”
